Video 4 [Artist Talk Series] "The Wait We Carry" | How it fits in the theme...

Welp… I’m going to state the obvious here. The signature piece doesn't just embody the theme of the series...

It is the Theme, and as it should be… right?

Today is Video 4 & Day 4 of this 10-Day video series and we’re talking about how the signature piece fits into the theme of the series.

Hey ya’ll, it’s Clifton Henri, nationally-recognized, award-winning fine art photographer.

And the intro above, that I’ve been so reluctant about, is starting to feel more like Truth than Embellishment.

In "The Wait We Carry", I’m capitalizing on the word play of WAIT and WEIGHT.

Using a young boy as the bearer of this inherited WAIT.

Adopting the concept of WAR and all of the emotional conflicts and harsh realities that come as the result of it.

Highlighting the idea of PROTECTION and what that looks like on both the physical and mental spectrum.

The signature piece really does encompass the fatigue, pain and overall sentiment of Black America as it relates to “WAITING”.

Tomorrow kicks off Day 5, Video 5.

We’ll dive into the technical aspects of the piece.

We’ll deconstruct it and put it back together, sharing with you all the elements and techniques used to pull it off.

I might nerd out a bit on this next one.

Can’t wait to get into it.
